The vision and dreams of the noble persons Late Bhai Gobind Singh Ji Pasricha, Late Sardar Hukam Singh Ji (Ex- Speaker Lok Sabha and Ex- Governor Rajasthan) and Late Sardar Gian Singh Ji Rai resulted in the foundation of the institution on the name of Great Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji,

Guru Nanak College of Education for Women founded in the year 1966 in Elysee Palace of the beautiful City of Palaces – Kapurthala. 

Motto of the institution is:

“Truth is High but Still Higher is Truthful living”

In today’s materialistic world of turmoil and chaos, the need of the hour is to follow the teaching of The Great Guru. Our institution whole heartedly follows and is committed to the path shown by Him.

The institution is recognized by NCTE and UGC under section 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC Act, 1956. It is covered under 95% Grant-in-Aid scheme of Punjab Government, affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and reaccredited by NAAC with grade B++ (2.81 CGPA).

The institution has always maintained a high ethical code as regard to admissions and academics thereby setting high standards. The focus of the institution is on quality curriculum transaction by providing variety of learning experiences coupled with innovative instructional strategies. Besides academic activities, the faculty efforts are directed towards social and community service. Meticulous planning, timely implementation and introspection of all curriculum and co-curricular activities are the priority of the institution. This leads to qualitative improvement thereby achieving the mission and goals of the institution. Over the years, the institution has always imparted quality education and multi-faceted training to mold would be teachers physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually. The institution always ensures that quality of teaching learning process is not compromised at any stage. This is reflected in consistently good academic results.
